UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN BASED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, COUPLES PHOTOGRAPHY, AND WEDDING HIGHLIGHT FILMS!

A little backstory about me: It's the usual story of a girl who at 5 years old picked up a pink film camera and carried it EVERYWHERE. I took pictures of my mom's horse, the chickens, the dogs, unsuspecting family members and wildlife. As I grew older, I graduated to a point and shoot digital Canon camera and started documenting my adventures with our horses, even having some of their portraits featured in calendars, magazines and at county fair photo competitions.

Scott and I got married in 2016. Due to life, I somehow set my camera and passion for taking pictures aside for a few years.

Fast forward to 2020. The world came to a screeching halt and I found myself with some free time to dream and ponder what I wanted my life to look like. I was currently working in the business side of the medical field and wanted something more. Something that I could do to benefit those around me while still creating a wholesome career. I took another hard, long look at my camera gear, decided to upgrade and learn to shoot in manual mode and started learning all I could about the ins and outs of a photography business.

We reside on the banks of the Otter River in Houghton County, Michigan and in April of 2020, Otter River Images was born.

Initially, with my background working with horses, I pursued equine photography. I did a variety of types of sessions, from seniors+their horses, family sessions, and second shot weddings. Very quickly, I was drawn solidly to the wedding photography industry. There was something about the aspect of being there from start to finish on a couple's wedding day that came home for me. Weddings are quite possibly one of the most important moments in our lives and I felt God calling me to specialize in serving couples.

And I haven't looked back.

Since 2020, I have photographed dozens of weddings and walked alongside couples: from the moment they first reach out, to their booking calls, to the planning process all the way to the wedding day and beyond. To say my heart is full when I look at my calendar with amazing couples is an understatement. My clients mean the absolute world to me: when they are sad, I feel that sadness too, and when they are rejoicing and celebrating-you bet we are too! My goal is to not just be your photographer; I want to be your best friend and cheerleader on your wedding day.
